Siete equipos mexicanos jugarán torneos internacionales
La Federación Mexicana de Futbol hizo oficial el calendario del Clausura 2012. El torneo empezará el viernes 6 de enero con el duelo entre Monarcas y Tijuana a las 20:10 horas en la cancha del Estadio Morelos para de esa forma arrancar con la Jornada 1 que tendrá lugar hasta el domingo 8 de enero.
En la Jornada 4 aparece el primer duelo entre equipos "grandes" y la primera visita de Chivas a la capital mexicana para enfrentar a los Pumas en el Olímpico Universitario, mientras que en la Fecha 7 del torneo Cruz Azul recibirá en su Estadio a los universitarios en otro choque que promete.
El duelo entre Pumas y América se llevará a cabo en la cancha del Estadio Azteca en el marco de la Jornada 11, además de que el Clásico Nacional entre América y Chivas tiene fecha para el domingo 8 de abril en la cancha del Estadio Omnilife, misma fecha que tendría lugar el Clásico Regio entre Tigres y Monterrey.
El Clásico Joven ahora tendrá sede en el inmueble de Santa Úrsula en la última jornada.
Otro duelo vital en el torneo será el que disputen Tecos y Atlas en la cancha del 3 de marzo en la Jornada 5 y con miras al descenso, ya que en este torneo también se definirá a la escuadra que abandonará el Máximo Circuito del balompié azteca.
Cabe destacar que en este torneo no habrá jornadas dobles por la participación de siete equipos mexicanos en torneo internacionales (Chivas, Cruz Azul y Tigres en Libertadores; Santos, Pumas, Monarcas y Monterrey en Concachampions).
La Liguilla daría inicio el 2 y 3 de mayo en los juegos de Ida para disputar la Vuelta entre el 5y 6 del mismo mes. Las Semifinales se jugarían entre el 9 y 13 de mayo para que la Gran Final se dispute el 17 y 20 de mayo.
Habrá algunas ausencias de jugadores por Selección Mexicana, pues la Mayor jugará algunos duelos amistosos y la Selección Preolímpica tendrá el torneo clasificatorio para Londres 2012.
